For week 2, we've been given complete freedom after being told to make "something cool". This is where I dropped my code and saved my current concept art process for a horror RPG "Infinite fear" to post it on my dev log.

Infinite Fear is a first-person hardcore shooter with RPG and survival horror elements. A story of an ordinary man who goes through a series of dangerous and fantastic events.
The environment art above represents a first broad vista, which the player will stumble upon after crashing their car in a storm, in the middle of Siberian woods.
This piece of art is one of the first ones to be shared with the team of "Infinite Fear" a year and a half ago. The houses in the distance initially were supposed to work as a scientific complex with hidden labs and offices, filled with mutants. The concept of the houses in such a scientific game did not satisfy me at all, but gladly, the team agreed to switch to another style rather quickly. So while the monsters and the underground complex idea is already in development, the concept of the outer building completely changed, and today I can only share a part of its mood board below:
The player in this game is seeing the world through the main characters eyes. But even if it's 1st person, we still decided to design and model the main character - Igor. This will be for cutscenes and whenever the camera is looking down to his feet for true immersion

Igor is a middle-aged Afghanistan veteran who was raised by his mother. Igor had to travel a lot even when he was a kid, but the new journey brings him to deep Siberian woods where he has to bury his mother.
Front headshot, painted in Photoshop, and ready for 3D modeling:

Cold, sarcastic personality and long tiring years are represented in piercing black and droopy eyes...
After a few hours of gameplay in the deepest corners of the complex, surrounded by mutants, a player will pass multiple labs and abandoned offices, which will give out the idea that the monsters were a consequence of a failed test. Could they be ex scientists of the facility..?

Brainstorm of enemies
Just as soon as Igor gets used to the hostile energy of the complex, he stumbles upon an isolated room in the lower levels of the facility where he notices a bunch of incubators, and in one of them, a normal-looking girl.
This is player's first interaction with a second character of the game, Sveta.

Early progress and variations of Sveta's concept art
All in all, project "Infinite fear" is a game run by a small but passionate team, and I've been lucky enough to meet them at the right place and time. The magnitude of this game will require some time to reach the goal that's why the team is constantly looking for new talents. While still being in art high school, I took upon the role of volunteering as a concept artist a year ago, which helped me to put my anatomy, composition, color, and many other skills into practice. After starting university I find myself in a lack of time to keep up with my concepts for them. However, as soon as such tasks as "Make something cool" come up, I am more than excited to jump back to drawing and designing for potential "Bangers."
